Today, we are announcing a roster update for our Counter-Strike team as we head into an exciting and challenging time with Counter-Strike 2. With this in mind, we have made the decision not to offer Martin “STYKO” Styk a contract extension. One of the toughest decisions an organization has to make is when to part ways with a player. Martin has been a core member with us since January 2022 and has remained a true professional throughout his tenure.
- We’ve shared an incredible journey with Martin, from the disappointments of 2022 to the remarkable run at the Paris Major in 2023. We are grateful for achieving this dream together with you, Martin. There is no doubt that you will forever be a legendary player in our club, and we wish you the best in whatever comes next,” says Head of Esports, Anders Kjær.
We are excited to provide Ådne “sense” Fredriksen, a member of our academy team, with the opportunity to try out for a spot on the team. He is currently at the bootcamp in Oslo and will be participating in all upcoming official matches, including IEM Sydney.
- We want to give younger players a chance to prove themselves at this level, and we are delighted that we can promote a player who has been part of our academy team for years. We are confident that he will learn a lot during this period, and perhaps even earn a spot on the team,” adds Kjær.
Martin, you will always be a legend in this club. Keep sharing your knowledge about the game. You are the definition of a role model.
